“ . . . giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.” (2 Peter 1:5-7, NKJV)
For many years, some time ago, I would pray to the Lord to give me more faith. Going through difficult times I would ask the Lord to increase my faith so I might trust Him and not give up. One morning after praying that prayer, then going to the scripture, the Lord hit me with this revelation. While reading this the Spirit of God clearly said to me, “You don’t need more faith. You just need to add these to your faith.” What a blessed revelation.
I think for many of us, when we are going through trying times, we believe we might need “more” faith. Yet, this scripture clearly tells us we are to add to our faith, virtue, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly kindness and love. If you continue reading the next verse, it tells us that if we continue growing in these things, we will neither be barren nor unfruitful. Chances are you do not need any more faith. You simply need to add these seven attributes to your faith. In doing so, you will see and feel great changes taking place in your life. Just be diligent, to ADD TO YOUR FAITH.
