“And the name of the second he called Ephraim: “For God has caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.” (Genesis 41:42, NKJV)
Wasn’t it bold of Joseph to name his son, Ephraim, “to be fruitful?” I love his boldness. I admired his brashness. Joseph did not care if people thought him arrogant or conceited. Joseph simply declared what he knew God had done for him. God made him to be “fruitful.”
We need to learn from Joseph. Stop apologizing for being blessed. Stop playing down the favor of God in your life. You do not owe anyone any excuses for something God blesses you with or for what God does in your life. It always bothers me when I hear someone complimenting someone else and the person being complimented says something like, “Oh, this is nothing,” or, “This old thing.” How would you feel if you gave someone something and you heard them tell someone else, “This is nothing?” Wouldn’t you think twice about doing something else nice for that person again? Well, image how God feels when we play down His blessings in our lives. Celebrate your victories. Boast in the Lord’s favor over your life. If others can’t get with it or if they consider you arrogant, they have the problem. Praise God for your blessings and declare His fruitfulness. No matter how others feel, DON’T APOLOGIZE FOR BEING BLESSED.
