“Truly God is good to Israel, To such as are pure in heart. But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; My steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the boastful, When I saw the prosperity of the wicked.” (Psalm 73:1-3, NKJV)
I wonder how often have I missed the incredible, consistent goodness of God when looking another way? How often have I compared myself to someone else, or envied someone else’s life and missed what God was doing in mine? How often have I complained about this or that, or wished something was different, all the while missing all the goodness and blessings of God in my “right now?"
As this Psalm opens, it’s clear the writer never wants to miss God’s goodness again. “But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; My steps had nearly slipped."
Open your eyes and see the multitude of blessings God has already bestowed upon you. Don’t miss, or miss out on, all of God's amazing goodness today. Morning by morning God has new mercies awaiting you. New blessings. New opportunities. New gifts of grace. It’s all yours right now. DON’T MISS IT!
