"I called on the Lord in distress; The Lord answered me and set me in a broad place." (Psalm 118:5. NKJV)
The Psalmist in this verse tells of how he was in trouble and distress, and he called on the Lord and the Lord heard and answered his prayer. He testifies of how God took him from under the weight of his troubles and set him above what was distressing him.
Isn't it wonderful to know that we too can call on the Lord in our distress, knowing He will answer us? Isn't if comforting to know when we are in trouble, our God hears our prayers and will come "right on time," to bring about our deliverance? In fact, He bids us to come to Him, to call upon Him, to ask of Him.
Please do not ever forget to call upon the Lord. Do not ever allow guilt or the spirit of condemnation to hinder you from calling on the Lord. Do not try to go it alone with your problems. God is waiting for you to call. God is your heavenly father. He is the lover of your soul. You are His child and He cares for you. He will not turn a deaf ear to you. He will not ignore your cry. Therefore, in the good times and in the bad times, in times of trouble, distress, need and uncertainty, today and everyday, JUST CALL ON THE LORD.
