“A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel,” (Proverbs 1:5, NKJV)
It is a sad and tragic thing for one to think he or she knows everything. How sad the person who will not listen to or hear another person because he or she believes they know it all. A person with a closed mind is one of the poorest individuals there is. Think about it, if no one can tell or teach you anything new, you will always be where you are and only have what you already possess.
Solomon lets us know that it is the wise man or woman who hears or listens to instruction and learns from what is heard.
Too often in our attempt to prove ourselves right or prove a point, we fail to listen to the wise counsel of others. When our minds are closed to the wisdom of others, any possibility of growth ceases. The only thing that individual can do is what they have already done.
Today, I want to admonish you to open your mind to the wisdom of others. None of us, no matter how old we are or the experiences we might have had, has learned so much that we do not need the wise counsel of others.
Wise people hear and increase learning. Decide to be a one of the wise. Great and abundant things are awaiting you. Wonderful new experiences are available to you, if you will simply LISTEN AND LEARN.
