Live Peaceably With All

“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”

(Romans 12:18, NKJV)

You know, much has been and is being said, good and bad, about our former

president, President Barack Obama. One of the things that I admired most about

him is that he was not quick to enter into war and conflict. While others beat the

war drums and call for military involvement and air strikes, President Obama

sought peaceful, diplomatic solutions to international issues. President Obama, a

Christian, knew and governed by the verse, “If it is possible, as much as depends

on you, live peaceably with all men.”

We too must let this verse be wisdom for our lives. There will always be those

who seek conflict and argument with us. Jesus told us we would even be

“persecuted for righteousness sake.” Yet, we must seek to be at peace and in peace

with all we meet. We must be the peacemakers and the peace seekers. Therefore,

as much as depends on us, let us LIVE PEACEABLY WITH ALL.
