“My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” (I John 3:18, NKJV)
You know, love is one of those things that is often talked about but seldom shown. It is easy to talk about what should happen or ought to happen. Many people speak about what they "are going to do." But love is one of those things that is better shown than talked about. In fact, talking about love is very easy to do. Showing love is not always so simple. Actually, you can talk about love and not show love, but when you show love, it is always talked about.
What the world, our communities and our families need right now is love that is demonstrated rather than merely talked about. John speaks that to us in this verse. He, even back then, was fully aware of the fact that there are many who talk a good game about love. These individuals were big on talk, short on action. John tells us this must not be our testimony. We must love in "deed and in truth" and not in word only.
Everybody likes to hear the words "I love you" every once in a while. In fact many of us need to hear it spoken. Yet, greater than the words spoken is the action shown. Show your love today. Let the evidence that you are a loving person be, not only in your words, but also in your actions. As many of us are quarantined or forced to stay at home due to the Coronavirus, show love to those you live with. Show your love to those you may pass by with just a simple act of kindness or a kind word. Show you are a loving individual by doing something to bless someone else. Let the world know that you are not one who loves in word or tongue only. Show your love with MORE DEMONSTRATION, LESS TALK.
