Sow Peace, Reap a Harvest

“Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”

(James 3:18, NKJV)

This is a very powerful verse. I love how the New Living Translation puts it, “And

those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of

righteousness.” James tells us that when we “pursue peace” and are

“peacemakers” we are actually sowing seeds and we can expect a harvest of

righteousness in other areas of our lives.

Think about it, every time you are faced with a hostile person or tempted to act in a

non-peaceful way, yet respond peacefully, you have just sown seeds for your

future. Those seeds will in turn produce a harvest of blessings in your life.

Peacemakers should rejoice in knowing a harvest is coming.

Do not miss your harvest. Do not allow other individuals or situations to cause

you to miss your blessings. Be a peacemaker. Pursue peace with all people, in

every situation. Remember these words of James from the New Living

Translation, “And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a

harvest of righteousness.” SOW PEACE, REAP A HARVEST.
