TALKING TEARS

"And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head . . ." (Luke 7:37-38, NKJV)

This familiar account of the woman with the alabaster box who washed Jesus' feet with her tears and dried his feet with her hair has been ministered in the church from generation to generation. This woman, who never is reported as saying a word, tells a story with her tears that are greater than any words that could ever be spoken. Her tears tell of her love, her pain, her sorrow, her shame, her repentance and her isolation.

Please do not ever forget that your tears talk to God. God sees and hears every tear that falls. God knows the cause of every tear you cry. And like this woman in these verses, God will defend you when you are attacked. God will comfort you when you are hurt. God will forgive you when you have sinned. God will lift you when you have fallen and God will restore you when have gone astray.

Every tear you cry is message to heaven of your need. Do not ever think your tears are wasted. Your tears are the messages of your heart that your mouth cannot utter. Though man might not be able to decipher their meaning or cause, know that God hears the message of TALKING TEARS.
