Where Your Power Comes From

“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth . . .” (Deuteronomy 8:18, NKJV)

This is Moses’ command to the children of Israel just prior to his death and their crossing over into the promised land. Moses reminds Israel that when they come into the land of promise and are blessed they are not to forget where those blessings come from. They are to remember who brought them, and where they came from. They are too remember it is God who gives them the power to get wealth.

We too must remember Who brought us, where He brought us from and Who is yet bringing us. It is God who has brought us, is even now keeping us and will keep and bless us in the future. We have the promise that if we love, honor, obey and worship God, He will give us the “power to get wealth.”

As we experience all the blessings from God, as we prosper and experience good success, let us not forget where those blessings come from. I would encourage and admonish us as Moses admonishes Israel, do not forget God. Do not forget where your blessings come from. Do not forget He who loves, cares for and keeps you. Do not forget WHERE YOUR POWER COMES FROM.
