"God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble." (Psalm 46:1, NKJV)
The Psalmist here writes to encourage us that our God is our refuge or shelter and our strength when we feel like we cannot go any further. He writes to assure us that no matter what we do or what we go through, God is present with us at all times.
Have you ever gone through a difficult time and felt like you were all by yourself? Have you ever felt like you were all alone and there was no one on your side and no one who really cared? Well, the Psalmist writes to remind us that God is there in those times of loneliness and despair. He is with us in all our troubles. Even when the trouble is of our own making, God is there to give us guidance, protection and strength.
Do not be fooled by the voice of the enemy, who would have you believe you are all alone and no one cares. God cares. God is there. He is with you right now. Protecting you. Shielding you. Loving you. He is and will always be, YOUR VERY PRESENT HELP.
